Hunt for the Horizon: Summary

The CAPS (Commerce Accord Patrol Ship) Castleheld, under orders from the The Free Commerce Accord, embarked on a daring journey to locate a missing vessel, the Hope's Horizon, which disappeared mysteriously during its voyage.

In the midst of their quest, the crew of the Castleheld was viciously attacked by a ruthless group of mercenaries led by Vosh Ve’Gideon. Vosh, a wayward prince hailing from the kingdom of Catevandril, was relentless in his pursuit. However, the Castleheld's crew managed to survive and evade capture, pushing forward with their mission.

Their persistence paid off when they stumbled upon the lost ship, HMS Hope's Horizon, but the scene was far from encouraging. The ship was found grounded, the aftermath of a violent attack, with all of its crew dead either from the battle or the illnesses that followed. Among the casualties was the queen of Catevandril, Kanelope Gideon. The sole survivor of the brutal onslaught was her son, Alexander Gideon IX.

Fleeing with the prince, the Castleheld was again caught out by the mercenaries which pursued them. Docking in a small port town to bide time, they were cornered and outmatched by the pursuing mercenaries. The Castleheld's escape seemed impossible.

In an act of desperation, it's captain made a calculated risk and allied himself with Elizabeth Corrigan, also known as the Sea Siren of the South. Though their partnership was contentious, Elizabeth held up her end of their bargain, helping the Castleheld navigate through dangerously shallow waters where their pursuers could not follow. Even this proved not enough but Elizabeth, in an ultimate sacrifice, gave her life to ensure the Castleheld's escape, leading her bereaved husband, Peter, onto a path of destiny that would trigger the events of the subsequent campaign, "The Beckoning."
